I still got it!

I’ve being jogging at Green Lake every Saturday for years. For one reason or another, I have being slacking on this routine. Last Saturday was the first time in many weeks I had no excuse not to go. Instead of ease back to the routine, I made myself finish 2 laps around the lake like when I left off. It was not easy but I did it in a little over 50 minutes in freezing 40-degree temperature.

Encouraged by this successful come back, I was determined to go back to my previous Saturday jogging routine. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to go the following Saturday morning due to an earlier arrangement. I decided to go on Friday since I have that day off.

Friday morning came, it was not only cold but also rainy. I started making excuse. “Maybe I’ll just do some treadmill in the gym”, I told myself. Near noon, I quickly changed and headed to Green Lake before I changed my mind.

I was very glade I went, I finished 2 laps in under 50 minutes! That’s pretty good personal records even during the times when I was jogging regularly. I think the fact much less people walking around the lake helped. I had bad weather to thank for my yet another successful come back.

No pain no gain

Today is my first time went jogging after coming back from a 2-week vacation. Although the trip involved lots of walking and I actually managed to sneak to the hotel gyms a few times, it didn’t make today’s jogging any easier. The 2-lap Green Lake jog took me extra amount of efforts and time. About to finish my first lap, I almost wanted to stop and called it a day. But the thought of giving up so easily annoyed me so I said to myself that I can take as much time as I want, but giving up is not an option.

I did finish the 2 laps. Hopefully I’ll do better next week. After the trip, I found that I also lost some weight, but also lost my abs. Oh boy, do I have a lot catching up to do.
