For some reason, Mango is not a common flavor found in the ice cream aisle here in Seattle. Mango sorbet however is plentiful in any general grocery store. I found a recipe online and made my own.

I think very highly of those who bake good cookies. Naturally I want to master this art of pastry making. Last week I made several trips to stores, getting ingredients and baking goods for my very first attempt to baking cookies.

I found an Oatmeal Cookie recipe online that looked simple enough for novice like me. Slowly and unsurely, I measured and mixed according to the recipe.

It was my first time using electric mixer. In fact, it’s my first time using mixer of any kind. I was careful not to make a mess.

End products came out of the oven looking more like oatmeal cereal bars than cookies. They did taste fine though.

I don’t cook a lot. And when I do, I don’t follow specific receipe. I have more fun in the kitchen when I’m experimenting with food. Although I’m not known as gourmet chief, i generally liked the dish I made myself. In the case when experimentation goes bad, I can finish up my cooking if others don’t.

090528 Making stuffed fresh Shitaki Mushrooms

This stuff mushroom dish turned out well. I had some grounded pork mixed with chopped chives, minced ginger, Chinese pickled lettius juice, and wine. Stuff it in the mushroom after removing the stem. Steam them for 20 minutes and it’s done.

I sliced up the remaining mushroom and the mushroom stem, stir fried it with chives. Voila! the 2nd dish was done.

Ktula shared a stuff mushroom with his coworker. The guy liked it. It’s official, the experimentation of stuffed mushroom was a success!
