On Saturday we went to a Korean restaurant for dinner. Sitting next to us were 2 Korean guys. They were speaking incredibly loud to each other. I tried to ignore them but couldn’t help but frowned whenever their loud conversations interrupted ours.

Armpit Man

Ktula signaled me to look to my right to check out something he found intriguing. With my peripheral, I made out a left arm rested comfortably on the back of the chair, exposing a thick bushy armpit not far from my face. The armpit’s owner didn’t seem to mind most diners in the restaurant were getting a full view of his hairy underarm. According to ktula, the armpit had uneven bumps all over. That didn’t sound too sightly at all. I also noticed his flip-flops were carelessly scattered under the table, not performing their duty as foot wear.

Snot Boy

While the guy on my side was breaking all the rules of what not to do in a restaurant setting, the guy on ktula’s side was equally ill-mannered. He managed to end each conversation with a loud and disgusting sound of him sucking and swallowing his own snots. We were joking the guy was full from eating his own snots, which explained a table full of food the two of them left behind.

I don’t know if this incident broadened my insight or enlighten me in any way. I was simply intrigued. I find people who care so little about personal hygiene or lack common sense behaviors in a public setting are almost comical. I just don’t expect people to behave that way. And when I do see it, it’s as if watching a comedy act.

My sister had me hooked on Restaurant City. First 2 days into playing this game, I dished out $15 real money for virtual coins spending in the game.

I’m no stranger to Facebook games. But willingly pay for virtual items this was a first time. Following the great tradition of Playfish games, Restaurant City is cute as a button but the style is more refine and the game play seems more sophisticated.

The game type is Time Management. Players oversee their restaurant business. The restaurant started small with just the player and another employee. Overtime players are rewarded with bigger space and more employees as players gain higher levels.

The in-game micro-economy is well thought of. Players started with enough fundings to get a taste of buying items in the game. At the beginning, the profits “coins” made from restaurant business is slow. It would take a long time until coins are accumulated enough for a nice item in the shop.

I was complaining to my sister how I can’t get most of the items with the coins I earned. She suggested I purchase some coins. “Just $5 will get you a lot of stuff.” That sounded like an approval to spend money on something silly like this. So I put $5 in, and the rest was history.

Look at my fancy restaurant “Piggie Chow’. It’s all decked up with pretty flower and eye catching restaurant signs. Step into the dinning area, you’ll see furniture hand picked by me and layout arranged in a way the restaurant runs most efficiently.

This is a really fun game. I hope I don’t spend too much money on it.

Monday was Labor Day weekend. International District was mad busy during lunch time. Hungry Chinese like ourselves, packed in all the restaurants for a quick easy meal. We didn’t want to bother with waiting in line or stress over parking. We decided to go to Easy Street Cafe at West Seattle.

Easy Street Cafe

How we love that place. Before moving to Queen Anne, Easy Street Cafe was one of our favorite neighborhood eateries. ktula always went for Suzy Q – eggs, hash browns, and bacon strips, the old fashion breakfast. As for me, it’s always the oven roasted turkey, cranberry chutney, and cream cheese Jive Turkey with Spicy tomato soup.

That day I happened to have my newly purchased cute little fox tote with me. I made ktula take a picture of me and the tote. Here it is.

Today I woke up to a rainy morning. Watching rain coming down rather heavily, I started to ponder if I should move today’s run indoor. But how I hate running on treadmill. It’s uninspiring and absolutely takes the fun out of running.

Plus today I would be challenging myself to a 1 hour and 35 minutes run. I couldn’t see myself finishing the entire run on a treadmill. I went online to look for answer to my dilemma. On Active.com’s forums, I found a discussion concerning running in the rain. It seemed that rainy day runs are good way to prepare runners for running conditions they can not predict in the day of actual run event. What a relief. I started looking forward to my rainy day run.

With this rain, Greenlake had much less people. The rain stopped during my second lap. What’s left was the overcast and windy weather which was perfect for a long run. I completed 11.2 miles in 1 hour and 35 minutes.

Happy day! I’ll have a bit of wine tonight to celebrate my yet another new record.
